APPLICATIONG AND PROSPECT

    The polyglycollic acid (PGA), a biological degradation agent is one of our innovative and proprietary products. It has great potential of wide application in the area of environmental protection. Following are the area in which this product can be applied:

Mixed PGA with PE 、 PP 、 EPS 、 PVC ——— It can obtain the biodegradable material, but without reducing the strength of the general plastics. PGA can degrade these plastics and make a novel degradable plastic material.

    PGA can be used as a microbiological degradation agent. Adding PGA to common plastics will make them degradation. The mixture has following characteristics: (1) Having controllable degradation property; according to the different requirement of degradation time, different ratio PGA can be added to the common plastics to make them degrade slowly in several months or several years. (2) Improving the material strength and treatment property of the common plastics; this is because when adding the PGA to the common plastics, it actually adds high polymer agent. High polymer agent has much better characteristics in improving the property of the common plastics comparing to other simple organic or inorganic agents. Thus, it can be used to produce so called one-time biodegradable materials per international standards.

  Polyglycolic acid (PGA) or polyglycolide(PGL) of high molecular weight has been successfully used as a biodegradable suture materials, Dexon.? FDA approved of a kind of function the excellent absorbing the suture in 1977. Its safety gets the complete confirmation with medical treatment effect. We have been synthesized PGA of moderate-low molecular weight, having the low-cost. PGA as the trigger is added into the common plastics inducing the common plastics to degrade.

Copolymer synthesized with starch ——— During the development of PGA, we have achieved the research of PGA/starch mixture. Therefore we have established the technology and process to make one-time degradable products, and we can make b iodegradable PGA/ starch particles. After the research of the synthesis of PGA-starch mixture, we can synthesize PGA/starch copolymer to make the starch-like degradable material to meet future market demands.

     The degradable plastics have wide applications, such as agricultural materials, package materials, one-time daily consumer goods, etc. The related products include mulch film, fertilizer bag, composing bag, package material, food bag, garbage bag, fast food dinnerware, beverage cup, table cover, glove, Golf tee and much more.

Application in sewage treatment ——— It can play the role of microbe co-metabolism, for example, when the activated sludge process was utilized to treat sewage, the use of PGA can shorten the aeration time of the aeration tank, further low the BOD 5 index, and improve the pollution removal effect.

Application in city refuse disposal ——— The PGA will play the role of clean the feces and decomposition of compost, which can make the microbe in the compost multiply by reproduction rapidly to decompose them into water and carbon dioxide, providing a new method to dispose city refuse.
